German Design Awards 2027

Five Nickl & Partner projects were recognised at the German Design Awards 2027. The modular Hospital Ship, developed jointly with VAMED+WWH and Pocket Hospital Switzerland AG, received Gold in the “Excellent Architecture – Architecture – Public” category. The mobile hospital ship enables flexible, scalable healthcare provision in crisis-affected and underserved regions.
Roche’s Diagnostics Innovation Center in Penzberg was also named a “Winner” in the same category.
Three further works were named “Winners” in the “Excellent Communications Design” discipline. The short film by Nicole Humiński and Nikolai Huber exploring the story behind the Nickl & Partner logo, together with the website developed in collaboration with LAUDO, received a joint award in the “Web” category.
The corporate book “Zweitausendvierundzwanzig” also impressed the jury in the “Books and Calendars” category. Its design features restrained black-and-white typography on the front and back covers, as well as Swiss binding that exposes the binding structure and book block.
The exhibition “EINPROZENT BauKunst” was recognised as a “Winner” in the “Integrated Campaigns and Advertising” category. The curatorial concept and exhibition design were developed by Lisa Luksch and Julius Niemeyer. Presented on construction props, the works created in collaboration with international artists reflect the practice’s everyday design process. Together with the exhibition graphics by Yvonne Damm, the exhibition, poster and booklet form a distinctive visual communication concept.
