The new Family House is located directly on the edge of the forest and next to the new Parent-Child Centre (ELKI) on the grounds of the University Hospital Bonn on the Venusberg. The building is being erected at the request of the “Förderkreis für krebskranke Kinder und Jugendliche Bonn e.V.”, which serves parents whose sick children are treated at the University Children’s Hospital in Bonn.

The Family House offers these family members low-cost accommodation close to their children. In addition to providing accommodation, the building also offers the opportunity for social exchange as well as retreat and relaxation. Other facilities include a communal kitchen with a large common room as well as youth, play and craft rooms and a small garden and terrace in the basement. The administrative department of the Förderkreis will occupy office space int the new building. The building meets the diverse requirements through a wide range of uses – living and sleeping, office work and consulting, but also playing. But the expressive form of the floor plan also follows an optimal utilisation of the defined plot.
