At the 9th “Health Care of the Future” symposium, the Architecture for Health – Student Award was presented for the third time in a row!
The award honours architecture graduates who have presented outstanding projects in the field of health architecture as part of their master’s thesis.
This year, three prizes as well as a separate Charité Special Prize were awarded. Funded by Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, the latter is presented for an outstanding student work with focus on sustainability and climate protection in the context of healthcare architecture.
The winners of this year’s Architecture for Health – Student Award are:
1st prize: Philipp Knaus: “Refugium Regenerativum – District Hospital Baraka, DR Congo“
2nd prize: Ann-Kathrin Salich: “Circle of Health – Expanding Berlin’s Medical Care”
2nd prize: Ajdin Vukovic: “Body as a House – Space, Experience and Mind in the Transformation of Trauma”
Charité Special Prize: Ann-Kathrin Salich: “Circle of Health – Expanding Berlin’s Medical Care”
Participation in the competition is to give young aspiring architects the opportunity to deepen their expertise in the field of health architecture and to encourage them to embark on the path of architecture for health. The award is sponsored by Hans and Christine Nickl Foundation.
Further information on the exciting projects of these young architects can be found on the official website of the European Network Architecture for Health (ENAH), which organized both, the symposium and the Student Award.
We congratulate the winners and look back on a successful event!
