As part of the renovation and expansion of the  Goethe University University Hospital, buildings 74 and 75, dating from 1968 and 1970, underwent renovation while still occupied. The project took place in two phases to minimise disruption.

The two almost square buildings, connected by a central staircase core, contain laboratories used by various institutions and seminar and lecture rooms. The renovation of the laboratory involved the creation of new structural and building technology to comply with CO2 emissions regulations and make the complex more efficient, and changed the floor plan of some areas of the hospital to make them more cost effective.

Date of completion: 2009
