Unfallkrankenhaus Neubau Rehabilitations-Klinik UKB Berlin

The new rehabilitation clinic on the campus of BG-Kliniken Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin combines architectural distinctiveness with a sensitive integration into the listed historic fabric.

The 135-metre-long building is divided into five segments, drawing on the classical architectural language of the historic campus buildings with their central and lateral risalits. The orange-red brick façade echoes the campus’ material palette, while generous window openings give the building a contemporary lightness.
With a gross floor area of approximately 17,000 m², the new building accommodates 151 inpatient beds for integrative rehabilitation, ventilator weaning, neurological rehabilitation, and sports medicine.
A project that illustrates how contemporary healthcare architecture can be thoughtfully integrated into a historic ensemble.
