As part of the 15th International Architecture Exhibition organised La Biennale di Venzia, the TIME SPACE EXISTENCE exhibition presents the work of architects from six continents. In the Bembo, Mora and Rossini palaces, a rare diversity of artistic and philosophical approaches by young and established offices is displayed in every conceivable form of presentation.

Nickl & Partner Architekten take up the TIME SPACE EXISTENCE theme in the form of a reflection on the “hospital living environment” based on a model presentation of the Kaiser-Franz-Josef Hospital in Vienna.

The “hospital living environment” not only describes the hospital in terms of its material configuration in the form of walls, corridors, furniture and equipment and its intangible configuration in the form of processes, expertise, administrative structures, networks, etc. The “living environment” also describes the hospital in the perception of people. This perception is itself shaped by people’s physical, spiritual and social condition and their everyday life – by the actual life experienced every day, by human EXISTENCE in SPACE and TIME.
